A Switchblade Attitude Perhaps?

Spent the entire weekend with my god-brothers in Cameron Highlands. It has been over 10 years since I last set foot in that place.
Other than the heavenly scones and the breathtaking scenery, everything was a total bore. Seriously.
It's not that I didn't had any fun, it's just that I expected more from Cameron Highlands. We had to spend most of the time indoors for it poured every single day. My camera didn't help much either, it ran out of battery on the first day of the trip itself. Luckily, I managed to snap quite a number of shots.

Here's a view of the tea plantation. Looks very serene, right?

Looking forward to meeting up with Denise together with some other friends. It has been a year since we last met. I wonder how she's doing right now.

You Make My Life Bright Because You Shine

It was a quarter to six at that time and I could feel the burning sun baking my skin through the open window. There I was, sitting at my computer desk, trying to think of something to blog about.
As we all know, updating is very important in blogging. I sat around, cracking my head for quite some time, but nothing came to my mind.
Then, out of a sudden, a thought struck me. Why not try something that you've never done before?
Therefore, I interviewed Ashlee. You must be thinking that it must be the craziest idea ever, but hell, I had nothing to lose. Check it out!

So tell me, Ashlee, where is your favourite hangout?
'I have no idea,' she laughed. 'I'd be anywhere! Does my bedroom count? It's probably the only place I feel safest in, hanging out by myself.'

Was there ever an embarrassing moment in your life?
'Of course. Nothing I'd remember and beat myself up for it though. Usually I just laugh about it.'

If you won the lottery for a million dollars, what will be first thing you would spend on?
'A new guitar. Scratch that, two new guitars! I'm not one to spend much though. I'd probably get one expensive thing and not buy anything else for months. I'm selfish with money, you know?'

What do you think of kids?
'Adorable. Or, a pain in the ass. It also works if you combine the two. Kids will always be kids.'

Let's move on to the next question, which one do you prefer, flats or heels?
'Flats. Flats. FLATS. Enough said.'

Man, you're fierce! Next, what do you enjoy doing the most?
'Singing, graphic designing, playing the guitar and coaching. Loves.'

What ticks you off the most?
'Slow cars. A lot of things, really.'

What type of music do you listen to?
'Rock. Alternative. Pop. Country. Anything really. Not a big fan of R&B, Hip-Hop and Rap though, except for Eminem and Flobots. They are the shiz! Also, I'm a big fan of non-mainstream music.'

Before I could ask anymore questions, she had to leave for she was in a hurry. Well, it seems like the interview didn't last that long as expected after all. At least I'm glad that the short interview occupied my time.

I plan to sign off until Sunday evening. Have some private affairs that I need to attend to. Adios.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Those Days Of Masks & Vertigo Sticks

For after 3 years, this blog has finally reached its 300th post.
That's a lot of entries. I would like to thank all my readers out there for the continuous support throughout all this while.

Downloaded Lady GaGa's second studio album, The Fame Monster, which was just released yesterday. Why can I say about her? Though some of her songs are kind of dark, most of them are catchy and quite meaningful, especially 'Bad Romance' and 'Telephone'. The verses are sung in a rapid-fire way, accompanied by powerful vocals.
The album deals with the darker side of fame, and is expressed through a monster metaphor. Well, I don't care how outrageous her dressings are, but she's a talented singer and that's that.

Also, have I ever mentioned that she's going to perform the first-ever pop electro opera? Wonder how will it sound like. All in all, this album is really worth listening. You should try it too.

Nicholas C will be officially fourteen today. May the years continue to be good to you. Happy Birthday!

Still loving the concept.

This Is A Fast Life, We Are On A Crash Course

Attended my cousin's wedding dinner at One World Hotel last night. They had been together for almost 12 years and finally tied the knot yesterday. That's a really long time.
Had a hard time deciding on what to wear for the wedding dinner. Everyone was dressed to kill. Luckily, I had something in my wardrobe that suited me perfectly.
The wedding dinner was simply grand. Dining in a five star hotel was truly an eye opener and a memorable experience for me.

Took this shot while I was in the hotel.

Just finished submitting the report on yesterday's event in time. One Tree Hill will be airing in just a matter of few minutes. Peace out.

Save Your Breath

Today, our school's Interact Club set out on a quest to help the unfortunate and the needy. This project is called the Interact's Big Give. The Interactors were randomly picked and placed into groups of seven people.
The project is more or less like the famous reality television show, Oprah's Big Give. However, the biggest difference is no one gets to appear on the big screen nor gets eliminated. Well, not exactly.
A representative in each group is supposed to record and snap pictures throughout the whole journey as proof.
We were given a sum of money to buy food supplies & some other daily necessities, and were told to search for poor people which needed help badly.
At first, our group, Rachel's Angels, drove around a poor town which was developing for almost an hour, to lookout for poor people. But it turns out that they didn't really needed our help. So we felt kind of frustrated and tried to think of a new location.
In the end, we visited an orphanage not far from that area and entertained some of the kids. After that, we roamed around and found the house of a retired, old lady whom does recycling to earn a living. We felt pity on her and gave her the rest of the supplies, though we had a hard time trying to communicate with her in Cantonese.

After today's trip, I was deeply touched and realised how fortunate I was. It was indeed a wonderful and memorable experience for me, volunteering to do community services.
Have to submit a full report regarding this morning's trip and attach the recordings. Until then.

The Epiphany

Just came back from the movies with my sister. Seems like I've been to the cinemas every single day. Since we ran out of choices, we bought the tickets for 'The Box' instead. Bad move.
The movie totally sucked. I watched it and I haven't the slightest idea what it's about. Well, not exactly.

The plot revolves around a 'down on their luck' couple, Norma & Arthur Lewis, whom are given a box containing a button, as well as an offer for the couple.
All they have to do is push the button, and they will receive a million dollars in cash, tax-free. The only catch is that someone, somewhere in the world that they do not know, will die.

The thing that I don't understand is somehow, the babysitter they hired has something to do with everything. I didn't get the entire scene when Arthur Lewis had to pick one of three paths which was the way to eternity. He picked one alright, but why the heck did he appear back in his house?

Anyway, this movie doesn't make any sense. Can't be bothered about the rest of the plot anymore. According to the Wikipedia, films are given a grade, with A being the highest possible and F being the lowest. 'The Box' received an F.
So don't watch it, or you'll regret.

You Fooled Me Once But You Can’t Have That Ego Turning

Went to the movies with Zech just now. We kind of failed our movie marathon mission.
The both of us managed to watch only 2 movies. One of them is 'The Fourth Kind'. This alien abduction flick bills itself as containing 'actual footage' from case histories.
Although this movie has an extremely terrifying premise, but it seemed kind of obvious that the whole movie is nothing but a hoax.

The storyline begins when hundreds of people get missing from Nome, a small town in Alaska since the 1960s. These missing people cases have never been solved.
But then a psychiatrist named Abigail Tyler starts investigating a rash of sleep disorders in Nome, and discovers that her patients are all having the same visions of white owls, which interrupt their dreams.
So, she hypnotizes her patients to find out more about this 'owl'.
Somehow, they were reduced to abject terror and started going crazy. There was this patient who started screaming in ancient Sumerian when she got into a trance.

Anyway, I'm not going to continue spoiling the rest of the story for those who haven't watched it yet. All I can say that it's worth watching. Way better than Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, at least. Still prefer 2012.

Say Hello To Goodbye

One year has come and gone. It's this time of the year again where we bid farewell to our fellow schoolmates and friends.
Like what I have mentioned in my previous post, this has been an eye-opening year for me. Maybe 2009 wasn't that bad after all.

Spent the whole day playing Blackjack and Mafia with some of my friends. Could say that I've lost quite a sum of money today. Well, at least I'm getting the hang of it.
Also, Sean taught me some of the rules for Texas Hold 'Em and Poker.

Janani will be migrating to New Zealand early next year. It seems like we've met just yesterday.
I still remember the great old times that we spent together. Especially the time when she wanted to drench me with water on my birthday but failed to do so because she rammed into my eye.

You'll be dearly missed, Janani. Thanks for the memories.

She's the martini girl, so live with it.

A Shock With The Truth

The results for the Form 2 Inter-Class English Drama Competition were revealed today. Our class took third place. Although I'm not that satisfied with the outcome, but I am really grateful that we were the second runner-up.
Again, thank you all for the tremendous support and consolations towards our class. We really appreciate them a lot.

Classes will be ending in less than a week's time. Which means, there will be a heartbreaking split up coming very soon.
My class this year, 2B1, was certainly one of the better classes in my life. It showed me eye-opening events and experiences that I've never seen before. For my class, I've learnt a lot and became a better person. Thanks for the memories, 2B1. You will be cherished, forever.

For a minute, all the world can wait.
