Sensation Sizzles

'California Gurls’, the first and lead single off Katy Perry’s forthcoming second album, 'Teenage Dream', was released last May. 'Teenage Dream' is said to hit the local music stores this August, so stay tuned.
It’s so good to have her back. Katy Perry kicked off the promotion of 'California Gurls' with the headline on her official site, 'Summer Starts Now!'. The song features 12-time Grammy Award nominated rapper Snoop Dogg.
Katy Perry has tossed her hat in the ring here to battle for top pop hit of summer 2010. It's far too early to predict a final outcome, but expect 'California Gurls' to be in there fighting. Katy Perry does things her way, and each time I listen to the song, it certainly sounds like a whole lot of fun. To tell the truth, I've only started liking the song after the music video was released.
The accompanying music video, which was released around 2 weeks ago, is Katy Perry's homage to the children's game, Candy Land, although it's sexed up for Katy's particular style. More like 'Katy In Wonderland'.

The video is one of those guilty, delicious pleasures which might make you hungry. It's definitely creative as it features moving gummy bears sticking middle fingers and Katy & her friends eating apart a gingerbread man. There's cupcake and peppermint bras as well as Katy Perry shooting out whipped cream in a creative way. You'll have to see it for yourself.
Definitely, I was entertained throughout the whole video as it made me smile, it showed the wild and naughtier side of Katy, but I still preferred the clip for Lady GaGa's 'Alejandro' because of the message and meaning behind it. Click here to watch the music video for 'California Gurls', which has climbed from number 53 to the 9th spot in the Charting At 100 this week.
